Bird Removal
Charleston, South Carolina has many birds. From migrating night herons to storcks to finches you never know what you might see. Making Charleston and the surrounding areas a great place for bird watchers and hunters alike. With all of these birds around, there is bound to be some unwanted cohabitation that takes place. Most often we see two species of birds that cause the most stress to homeowners and that would be the House Sparrow and the European Starling. Both of these birds are prime candidates to take roost in your home and cause damage. Both of these birds are small in size making it easy for them to find gaps to access your home. It might be hard for a naked eye to determine the difference between these two birds but there are some significant differences in the way they build their nests. House Sparrow nests are usually made up of grasses, small debris, pieces of plastic, and small twigs to fill the gaps, they are usually in easy to reach access to the outside of a home. While Starlings usually build mansions of nest in peoples attics Ive personally seen them four foot wide by 3 foot high, a lot of work and a big clean up for such a small bird. Their nest are usually made up of similar items but slightly larger twigs and pieces of grasses. Starlings tend to associate their nests with cavities such as in attics, behind gutters, or anywhere that they are a little more hidden from the outside world. If your noticing birds flying into your home and wondering if they are causing any damages think about this…
